Spotty eczema?!!!?
My 17 month old son developed little spots on his cheeks at about 8 months. These are like little white heads and i assumed they were Milia or infant acne and would clear up.
In time he also developed them on this legs and a few on his arms (though these are more red looking)
The doctor said he has eczema and gave me Oilatum bath oil, E45 cream and Elfcortilan cream for him.
I have followed every instruction given by the doctor, my son soaks in an Oilatum bath for 20 minutes each night, i rub E45 in 3 times a day and after baths and Efcortilan is applied twice a day. This has gone on for months without any improvement at all in the spots. Sometime he scratches them off and they become infected, im worried about scarring.
I returned to the doctor and he said it is eczema and i need to perserve, but its not even improving a little bit.
Has anyone had anything like this? Any advise would be appreciated.
See if you can figure out what’s triggering the excema. WIth my daughter it was anything with scent in it. I have to use a free and clear laundry detergent (dreft was the WORST, it has so much scent in it). I also used all Aveeno products for bath time etc. They make a wonderful baby wash and lotion for extra dry skin with excema that’s completely scent and dye free.
Dairy can also be a major trigger for excema.
I missed the fact that she never had that “baby” smell (like dreft and baby magic lotion), but it cleared her excema RIGHT up. She’s 5 now and I can tell if one of her shirts gets in with a load of my wash, she’ll have patches of excema where ever the clothing touched her for a few days.
